April Wrap UP

April Wrap UP

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was busy doing some spring cleaning and finished reading The Nightmare by Lars Keplar. I am working on a book review and hopefully will have it posted tomorrow.

In April I didn’t finish many books, I main focus was on finally finishing The Heart’s Invisible Furies. As I have only been reading it since February! I mostly did a lot of listening to audiobooks and toward the end of the month they were all non-fiction. Continue reading “April Wrap UP”

January Wrap Up

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the New Year, I have to say that the start to the year has been a great one and hope it continues that way. 🙂 I read 15 books this month, thanks to the biannual bibliothon and audiobooks. Out of those 15 books 8 of them were audiobooks.

I have been into audiobooks lately I can read along at a faster speed and listen while doing chores.  I have so many great books I want to read and this is helping me get to them. 🙂 Continue reading “January Wrap Up”

Reading Wrap Up:

I do realize that it is the end of the year and I am just now posting a wrap up for August and September. I was debating about whether I should even bother and not sure if anyone really cares or not but I figure might as well since I already took the photos.

July Wrap Up

July Wrap Up

Hello and welcome to my July wrap up, I am so sad that July is over, it went by too fast. It seems like Summer had a late start where I live and then next thing you know it is going to be over. 😥 The other day this guy at work was singing a Christmas song! I don’t even want to think about Christmas yet, it’s too soon.

I finished eight books in July and am well on my way to completing my Goodreads challenge of reading 70 books. I only read three books from my Summer TBR and now have nine books left. I don’t see myself actually completing them all in August but more likely finish in September.

The Girls by Emma Cline

July Wrap Up
When I first bought this book up I thought it was going to more psychological but then I found out it is more of a coming of age story and I was slightly disappointed but I do like coming of age stories so, I was like yeah I can get down with that. Turns out I couldn’t and was let down by this book.

2 Stars

Those Girls by Chevy Stevens

July Wrap Up
After reading Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter in June I was in the mood for a thriller and have also been meaning to read another book by Chevy Stevens so, thought I would kill two birds with one stone. ;P I did a review for Those Girls  click the link to know more of my thoughts.

3.5 Stars

Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

July Wrap Up
I had high expectations for Hawkins new book and I think I might have built it up too much because I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. The plot twist at the end I expected I even said I knew it. I do want to do a review for this

Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica

I didn’t love this one as much as I thought I would because I did love The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. This one was a bit slower for me to get into but I did like how it all came together at the end.

3.5 Stars

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

July Wrap Up
I finally finished Cruel Beauty it has been on my TBR forever and I tried reading it last year but DNF it. I did understand it  better the second time going in and I liked it ok.

2.5 Stars

Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour

July Wrap Up
I read this as part of the Summer Biannual Bibliothon for the challenge read a LGBQT+ book. A perfect summer read, I really enjoyed reading Everything Leads to You. A little bit of mystery, great friendship and some romance. I really liked the behind the scenes look at what goes into set design for a movie.

4 Stars

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

July Wrap Up
Another book I read for the Bibliothon to complete challenge read a book to movie adaptation. Before I fall was ok but I just felt it was a little long and ended up getting bored with it, I really had to force myself to get through it. I also wasn’t a big fan of the ending.

2 Stars

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

July Wrap Up
The last book I read for the Bibliothon, read a banned book. I really enjoyed reading about Huck’s adventures. I think this is a great piece of literature about friendship and racism. I will definitely be reading this one again.

4.5 Stars

There you have it all the books I finished in July. What books did you finish in July?
