Tag Tuesday: The Cats and Books Tag

Happy Tag Tuesday!

This book tag was created by Spinster’s Library. I have created a link to her channel so you can watch her video. I love all animals and have had both dogs and cats growing up but I am more of a cat person than a dog person.

1. Tell us about your cat(s)! Name, age, hobbies?

My cat’s name is Mew Mew. She is 1 ½. Her hobbies include napping, people watching from her perch by the window. She loves to be chased around the apartment, hide and seek, play fighting and playing with her mouse. Mew Mew is a very playful kitty. She meows lots when I am busy with other things because she wants to be played with constantly. She is not the most affectionate of kitties but I still try to give her lots of kisses and nuzzel her.

2. Recommend a book that features, includes or mentions a cat?

The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman Jet has a cat named Wren

Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

3. What’s your favourite fictional cat? This can be from literature, TV, movies, games etc

A Tie between Binx from Hocus Pocus and Cheshire Cat from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

If your cat was the main character in a book, what sort of book would it be?

If Mew Mew was to be a main character in a book it would be the bad ass female hero in a fantasy series. She has some pretty amazing cat attack skills.

Tag Tuesday: Cats and Books Tag4. Recommend a book that your cat would enjoy if they could read.

If Mew Mew could read I would recommend Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak because she is a wild thing.

5. Which book or story would benefit from the inclusion of one or more cats?

The Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. I wish Flavia had a cat with her as she did her amateur sleuthing and creating things in her laboratory.

6. Have your cat pick your next read! (optional)

I laid out three options for her to pick, An American Marriage by Tayari Jones, The Wonder of All Things by Jason Mott, and You by Caroline Kepnes. She picked An American Marriage so that will be my next read.

7. Tag some cat lovers!

If you are a cat lover consider yourself tagged. 🙂
