July Page Habit Unboxing

July Page Habit Unboxing

I decided to keep my Page Habit subscription because I just love these bookish boxes. I did go with the historical box again and love this box just as much as the June box. All the bookish goodies I received I will use for sure.

This months July Page Habit book is Where the Light Falls by Allison Pataki and Owen Pataki. The first book this brother/sister writing duo have written together. It will be interesting to read and see how the writing flows together. Continue reading “July Page Habit Unboxing”

August TBR and Currently Reading

It is close to the middle of the month but I still would like to share my TBR for the month.

So far this month I have read two books and am currently half way through two others. I still have a few books left on my Summer TBR that I really want to get to. Plus I also want to get to five other books as well. Needless to say I have an ambitious TBR this month.

Summer TBR

We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

The Last Camellia by Sarah Jio

Almost Famous Women by Megan Mayhew Bergman

The Good Sister by Jamie Kain

Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd

The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

This is the Historical Fictionistas book club pick for August and I have been part of this group on Goodreads forever and never participated. But I noticed that this was the book they would be reading and I recently bought it and really want to read it soon, so seemed like the perfect time to participate in the book club.

Every Last Lie by Mary Kubica

The latest release from Mary Kubica and I enjoy her books and am excited to get to it this month.

The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova

I was highly anticipating this book and I still haven’t read it and it came out in April. I need to fix this and finally read it.

The Lost Girls by Heather Young

My Grandma gave this book to me last year and I am going out to visit here this month and feel like I should read this before I leave to B.C.

What We Find by Robyn Carr

Another book my Grandma gave to me that I also want to read before I leave on the 23rd.

Currently Reading

It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han

I am half way through this book and I want to finish it today but not sure if I will have the time. It is an easy read so if I do get the time it won’t take long to finish.

Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica

I wanted to read this Kubica book before I started with her newest book and that way I will have read all her previous books. I’ve partly listened to this on audio and partly read it. So far I am loving it and look forward to the big reveal.

July Wrap Up

July Wrap Up

Hello and welcome to my July wrap up, I am so sad that July is over, it went by too fast. It seems like Summer had a late start where I live and then next thing you know it is going to be over. 😥 The other day this guy at work was singing a Christmas song! I don’t even want to think about Christmas yet, it’s too soon.

I finished eight books in July and am well on my way to completing my Goodreads challenge of reading 70 books. I only read three books from my Summer TBR and now have nine books left. I don’t see myself actually completing them all in August but more likely finish in September.

The Girls by Emma Cline

July Wrap Up
When I first bought this book up I thought it was going to more psychological but then I found out it is more of a coming of age story and I was slightly disappointed but I do like coming of age stories so, I was like yeah I can get down with that. Turns out I couldn’t and was let down by this book.

Those Girls by Chevy Stevens

July Wrap Up
After reading Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter in June I was in the mood for a thriller and have also been meaning to read another book by Chevy Stevens so, thought I would kill two birds with one stone. ;P I did a review for Those Girls  click the link to know more of my thoughts.

Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

July Wrap Up
I had high expectations for Hawkins new book and I think I might have built it up too much because I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. The plot twist at the end I expected I even said I knew it. I do want to do a review for this

Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica

I didn’t love this one as much as I thought I would because I did love The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. This one was a bit slower for me to get into but I did like how it all came together at the end.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

July Wrap Up
I finally finished Cruel Beauty it has been on my TBR forever and I tried reading it last year but DNF it. I did understand it  better the second time going in and I liked it ok.

Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour

July Wrap Up
I read this as part of the Summer Biannual Bibliothon for the challenge read a LGBQT+ book. A perfect summer read, I really enjoyed reading Everything Leads to You. A little bit of mystery, great friendship and some romance. I really liked the behind the scenes look at what goes into set design for a movie.

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

July Wrap Up
Another book I read for the Bibliothon to complete challenge read a book to movie adaptation. Before I fall was ok but I just felt it was a little long and ended up getting bored with it, I really had to force myself to get through it. I also wasn’t a big fan of the ending.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

July Wrap Up
The last book I read for the Bibliothon, read a banned book. I really enjoyed reading about Huck’s adventures. I think this is a great piece of literature about friendship and racism. I will definitely be reading this one again.
