Summer Biannual Bibliothon TBR

Summer Biannual Bibliothon TBR

The Summer Biannual Bibliothon has started and I plan on taking part. I did participate in the Winter Bibliothon and like the reading challenges and taking the time to read more than I normally would. I really hope I can get through all the six book I have on my TBR.

1. Read the group book.

The group book is Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdeih. I don’t own this book and don’t really plan on reading it this week because I don’t want to go out and buy and I am on my library’s waiting list but am sure I won’t be able to check it out in time. Oh well.

2. Read a book from a hosts favourite genre

I choose historical fiction and that is Caz’s favourite genre, also, my favourite genre. And the book I chose for this challenge is The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory. I have had this on my TBR since March and this week I will finally finish it

3. Read a book that has been banned or still is

For this one I am going with Huckleberry Finn because it was one of the few book that I own that has been banned. Also, I haven’t read a classic this month and have been trying to read a classic once a month.

4. Throwback Challenge

The throwback I picked is to read a book that has been on my shelf for over a year. I had many books to choose from but I went with Christine Falls by Benjamin Black. I picked this because I have been in to reading thrillers since picking up The Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter last month.

5. Read a book to movie adaptation

I wanted to read Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver earlier this year when the movie came out but never got around to it and so this is the perfect book for this challenge.

6. Read a book you’ve seen somewhere other than BookTube

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid was released in June and it seemed I was seeing this beautiful book everywhere on instagram. I heard good things about it and Kristin Kraves Books said it was one of her favourite books so far so I had to pick it up and that was enough for me to go out and buy it.

7. Read a LGBTQ+ book

Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour was the first book that came to mind for this one which is works out because it is on my Summer TBR.

Those are the seven challenges and books that I plan on reading this week. “Crosses Fingers” I hope I can do it.

My Game Plan

I plan on and have started Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour and am almost finished it. Then I plan on reading and finishing Huckleberry Finn today. It is a children’s book so I think I can get through it fairly quickly.

In the mornings before work I plan on reading The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory and hope I can complete that within the five days.

My nighttime book is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and also hope I can get through it within the five days.

With Before I Fall and Christine Falls this books I read on route to work and during my lunch. I have downloaded the audio books, so I can listen to them while I am cooking dinner and cleaning as well.

That is how I plan on getting through these books in a week and I actually think I can do it. 🙂 Is anyone else participating in the Summer Biannual Bibliothon? or the BookTube-a-Thon? Let me know what books you plan on reading and your game plan.

  1. You have no idea how happy it made me to read this! It is so gratifying to know that someone actually valued my opinion enough to go out and buy I book that I love! Good luck with the readathon! I hope you love Evelyn Hugo just as much as I did. I would love to discuss it after!!
