February Wrap Up

It’s March and it will be spring soon enough. I guess I can’t complain too much since it has been an unseasonably warm February. Well enough about the weather and lets get on to the books I read in February. In total I read 5.5 books so, not quite the 10 books I planned on reading.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

February Wrap Up 2017 A Court of Mist and Fury

I finally finished A Court of Mist and Fury it definitely took me longer than I expected. I have to say I wasn’t crazy in love with it. It was better than the first one but I still felt like the plot was slow and somethings I felt were far fetched. I know it is a fantasy but still has to be believable. At least Feyrah was less annoying in this book and the romance realistic. I rated this 3 stars.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

February Wrap Up 2017 Fangirl By Rainbow Rowell

I was anticipating on loving this book but I didn’t love it. I thought it was ok. I didn’t care for the Carry On scenes and ended up skipping those. The romance wasn’t as swoon worthy as Elanor and Park. Overall I just found it to be meh. I gave it a 2.5 stars.

Peony In Love by Lisa See

February Wrap Up 2017 Peony In Love by Lisa See

I thought that Peony in Love was a beautiful story and was surprised that it was based off of real people. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I reccomend reading if you enjoy historical fiction.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

February Wrap Up 2017 Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Like Fangirl this one also didn’t do it for me in the romance department. I just wasn’t feeling the chemistry between Lou and Will. I was expecting Me Before You to be more of a romance story than it was. I though Lou and Will had a great friendship and I enjoyed reading about their friendship but just didn’t buy the romance. I rated it 3 stars and reccomend if you like contemporary.

The Sippery Art of Book Reviewing by Mayra Cavani

February Wrap Up The Slippery Art of the Book Reviewing

I stuggle with writing book reviews and I hoped by picking this up it would help me out in that department. I did find The Slippery Art of Book Reviewing helpful but it was more geared toward critical reviews rather than reader reviews. Which I consider my reviews to be reader reviews.

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

February Wrap Up 2017 Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

I have to say I quite enjoyed Northanger Abbey. I liked Catherine as a character and I enjoyed reading about the romance between her and Mr. Tilney . I have to say I was quite charmed by Mr. Tilney. I gave it 4 stars.

That brings us to the end of my February Wrap Up. I didn’t get to my two top priority books on my February TBR, I will have to make them a priority this month.
