Hello and welcome to my January wrap up. 🙂 I hope everyone had a great January to start 2017 on a good note. Overall, the month was good, I was able to read 8.5 books. I was able to read that much because I participated in the Bi-annual Bibliothon. I will list them in order in which I read at the start of the month to what I am currently reading now.
Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
This was my first time reading these classic works by Lewis Carrol and I enjoyed reading this nonsensical world he created. I already want to re-read them soon.
Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley
I loved this book and highly recommend reading. My only 5 star rating for the month. I did a review for this and will leave a link if you would like to know more of my thoughts. Lies We Tell Ourselves Book Review.
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
I was hoping to like this more than I did. I ended u finding it predictable, which lost its air of mystery. I gave Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco 3 stars and I also did a review. Stalking Jack the Ripper Review
Winter by Marissa Meyer
I thought this was a great conclusion to an awesome series. If you haven’t read this series I recommend you pick it up and give it a try. I am sad that it’s over but happy that I read it. I gave winter 4 stars.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I didn’t have high expectations going into this one and I think that is why I ended up liking it more that I thought I would. I ended up giving Red Queen 3 stars. Read my review if youhaven’t already. Red Queen Book Review.
A Court of Thornes and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I finally read ACOTAR this month and after all the hype surrounding this series I have to say I was slightly disappointed. I thought it was slow going and didn’t feel the chemistry between Tamlin and Fayreh.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
So, I only managed to get about halfway through this one it is quite a chunky book and is also slow going for me. So, far I am preferring this one to ACOTAR. Hopefully, I will have this finished soon and then I can get started on the books I want to read in February.
Stars Above by Marissa Meyer
I wasn’t quite ready to let the world Marissa Meyer created to end. So, I just had to pick up this collection of short stories and I found them all to be enjoyable. It was great to get a glimpse of each of the characters before the events that took place in Cinder.
That’s everything I read this month, thanks for reading. Let me know what you read in January and your thoughts on the books I read.
