February TBR

February TBR

Welcome Everyone,

Today, I will be sharing my February TBR, these will be the books that I plan on reading this month. I have a picked out 10 books that I want to get to, ambitious, I know. Since, it is February I decided to pick out a few romantic books in honour of Valentines Day. I will list the books in order of books I most want to read.

February TBR

The White Princess by Philippa Gregory

I have been meaning to get to this book since I bought it back in June and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. So, I have made this one top priority for my February TBR. The White Princess is the 5th book in the cousins war series and is about the life of Elizabeth of York as she marries Henry Tudor VII, her enemy house, in order to unify the country that has been at war for too long.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I have pushed this up on my TBR because I recently found out that Selena Gomez is producing a TV series of this on Netflix and I must watch it. I am a fan of Selena and after reading this she made it her passion project to create a series. The trailer looks so good and I can’t wait for it to come out on March 31.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Last year, around this time everyone was reading this book and I never got around to reading it. I will pick it up in February for sure and finally find out what the fuss is about. I also plan on watching the movie this month to so might do a comparison post about my thoughts.

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

I plan on reading at least one classic per month this year and I thought Jane Austen would be a great one to read for February since she is known for her romantic novels. I haven’t had much luck with Jane Austen in the past and I am hoping to change that with this one.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Last year, I read my first Rainbow Rowell book, Eleanor and Park, and I adored it. Since, then I have been wanting to read more by her and Fangirl seems to be everyone’s favorite. Here’s hoping I enjoy it as much as Eleanor and Park.

The Promise of Stardust by Priscille Sibley

This has been on my shelf for quite some time now and I figure this month would be a good month to finally get around to reading it. This sounds like it will be a heart-breaking/heart-warming story about a couple, Elle and Matt, in their late 30’s who have tried unsuccessfully for a baby. Elle becomes brain dead after an accident and Matt makes the decision to pull the plug but at the last minute they discover that she is pregnant and he refuses to pull the plug. This decision ends him up in court against his own mother who says Elle would not want to be on life support. Sounds like it will be an emotional read.

Peony in Love by Lisa See

Peony in Love by Lisa See

I have been meaning to read another book by Lisa See as I really enjoyed her Shanghai Girls Companion Duology. Peony in Love is set in 17th Century China and is about the Peony Pavilion opera, known for causing lovesickness and death, Sixteen year old Peony wishes nothing more than to go and when she does she is succumbs to the opera’s spell.

 Delirium by Lauren Oliver

If I do manage to read all the previous books then I would love to get started on the Delirium series. This one is a dystopian where being in love is a deemed bad and  when you reach a certain age you are given a cure for love. I thought February would be a good time to read this one.

1001 Arabian Nights

I just want to start casually reading this one by reading one short story at night and hopefully I will be done it by the end of February and if not that’s ok. This is a folklore collection of tales told by Shahrazad over a thousand and one nights to delay her execution by the vengeful King Shahriyar

Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff

I want to read more non-fiction books and I have had this on my shelf for over a year now and it has rave reviews, so I figured this would be a good place to start for reading non-fiction. I am also interested in knowing more about Cleopatra.

That is it for the 10 book I plan on reading for February, I hope that I at least manage to get through half of them. Do you plan out what you will be reading for the month? If so let me know what books you will be reading this month. 🙂
