Today, I have a thrifty book haul for you, I went to my local Salvation Army Thrift Store to see if they had any books that I have been searching for. They didn’t have much selection which was slightly disappointing but they did have some books that I have been wanting for a while and I ended up picking up 6 books in total.
I was so happy when I found these because I have been waiting to read this series for quite some time. Although, these copies are bigger than my other ones I own now its ok I don’t think I will keep the series when I am done.
This series is a dystopian about a girl named Tally and she is close to receiving her surgery to take her from an Ugly” to and a “Pretty” but when her friend Shay runs away because she doesn’t want to become a “Pretty”, Tally has been given the task in finding her or else so won’t become a “Pretty”.
Whenever I am at the Thrift Store I always like to pick up some Anne Rice books and I was happy to find these two in decent condition. I have only read the first book in the Vampire Chronicles, Interview With a Vampire and loved it and I look forward to continuing with the series now that I have the second one in the series.
I picked this one up because of the sense of friendship you get from the cover and I love a good book about friendship. I found it interesting that this is written by sisters. I also haven’t read that many stories set in Africa.
Blood Sisters is set in Kenya and is about three best friends who become blood sisters. Camilla Broughton Smith, Sarah Mackay and Hannah Van Der Beer promise each other that nothing will come between them.
The Princes in the Tower is a non-fiction book about the murder mystery surrounding boy king Edward V and his younger brother Richard, Duke of York. Ever since reading Philippa Gregory’s Cousin’s War Series, I have been interested in knowing more about the mystery of the Princes in the Tower. I hope this will be an interesting read and not dull and boring.
That is all the six books that I found at the thrift store. As always hope you enjoyed reading this haul. Let me know what you think of the books I picked up this month.
