November Book Haul

I had preordered Heartless back in April and with that preorder I also ordered 4 books. I didn’t mind waiting until November to receive them. This haul is the beautiful book cover haul because all these cover are very pleasing to the eye.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

November Book Haul

I love Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, although I still need to read, Winter, the last book in the series. Heartless is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and tells the story of how the Queen of Hearts became so wicked and wanting to chop everyone’s heads off. This one is not part of the Lunar Chronicles but is a standalone book.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

November Book Haul

This was in the Bargain Section on Chapters for $10 and I remember Amanda from All the Books on YouTube mentioning it was one of her favorite books of all time, so I figured for that price I want to see if I would love it as well.  Also, the blurb on the front compares the character in Red Rising, Darrow, to Katniss and Ender and I love those characters from the Hunger Games and Ender’s Game.

This is a science fiction where the society is colour coded, red being the lowest which Darrow happens to be. He spends all his time like other Reds slaving away in hopes that Mars will someday be a livable planet. He makes a startling discover that changes everything, Mars is and has been a livable planet for a few generations now. He plans to bring down the golds, so the reds can rise.

Cruel Crown by Victoria Aveyard

November Book Haul

The covers for this series are stunning, kudos to the cover designer for doing an amazing job and I am going to display on my shelves like art. Cruel Crown is a prequel to Red Queen and contains two short stories called Queen Song and Steel Scars. I still haven’t read Red Queen yet since I heard mixed reviews on it but I should just read it and see what I think.

The Last Tycoon and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I have been wanting these Penguin Classic editions of F. Scott Fitzgerald works for a few years now and finally checked to see if they had them on Chapters and thankfully they did. I only bought two of them and I hope to buy the rest soon. I just think the 1920’s art deco covers are beautiful and would love to add all of them to my bookshelf.

That’s it for this book haul, I did make a purchase on BookOutlet for Black Friday, I just haven’t received the package yet. So I will be doing another book haul at the beginning of next month.
