June Book Haul
I was trying not to buy that many books this month but I did end up buying 12 books. Oops. What’s a girl to do when there are so many great books out there that I just feel like I should own them all. Although I really have no where to put them all.
I will link the title to goodreads if you wish to know more about the book and also link for purchase if you want to know the price or wish to purchase.
Book Outlet was having another 15% off sale I wasn’t planning on purchasing but I am weak and couldn’t resist and ended up buying 6 books from the sale.
As per uje I had to check out to see what Philippa Gregory books they had that I could add to my collection. I picked up 4 books by her and I think I have all the books that book Outlet has to offer. So probably won’t be hauling anything by her for awhile. Now just need to pick up one of her books to read.
The White Princess by Philippa Gregory
This is the 5th book in the cousin’s war series. I have been loving this series so far and can’t wait to continue on with the series. Probably put it in my August TBR.
Elizabeth of York is to marry her enemy Henry Tudor who is now king. Their marriage will finally unite the country. Elizabeth is still in love with Richard III but in time she learns to love Henry. Things become complicated when a boy who claims to be her lost brother and may be the rightful heir to the throne.

Meridon by Philippa Gregory
The third book in the Wideacre Trilogy. I am not even sure what this series is about to be honest. I bought because I don’t already own it and it was available on the site. I do already own the second in the series. I had wanted to buy the first book but they only had a copy of it in-store. Don’t you hate when that happens? I sure do.

Earthly Joys by Philippa Gregory
The last book that I have to share with you that is by Philippa Gregory is Earthly Joy which is the first book in the tradescant duology. Set in 17th century England, John Tradescant is a famed gardener who is a informal confidant to Sir Robert Cecil. As he befriends the Duke of Buckinghamshire things get a little complicated.

By Royal Decree by Kate Emerson
Continuing on with royal fiction theme, this book is the third book in the Secrets of the Tudor Court series. I don’t actually own the other two but I don’t mind. This book is about Elizabeth Brooke and her romance between Will Parr.

Wicked Girls by Stephanie Hemphill
Another historical fiction book and this one is about the Salem Witch trials. Sounds like it will be an interesting read.

Out of Reach by Carrie Arcos
This book was on my wishlist so I figured this would be a good time to get it. This was interesting to me because it is a book about a girl whose brother is addicted to drugs and has gone missing. Sounds like will be a good one and has won by National Book Award.
Rachel is searching for her missing drug addicted brother. She is feeling guilty because she didn’t pay attention to him when he was trying to confide in her. During her search for her brother she has to face some of her own secrets.
While looking up more info on the book Reign I noticed there were a couple of novellas, one a prequel and one that is between the first and second book. Reign is based on the CW series about Queen Mary of Scots. I bought these through Kobo for a dollar each can’t go wrong with that.
Darkness Rises (Reign 0.5) by Lily Blake
This book gives you more background into what the Darkness is and its origins. With the Darkness coming back Bash wants to stop it before it causes more destruction.
The Haunting (Reign 1.5) by Lily Blake
Francis has been crowned king and hasn’t quite transitioned into his new position. He has been plagued with nightmares about his father. He wonders if he is going mad like his father or maybe his father’s ghost is trying to tell him something.
Curtsies and Conspiracies by Gail Carriger
Picked this book up at Dollarrama for 3 dollars. I have seen it mentioned in some book-tube videos so I figured why not. I picked it up without even reading the synopsis. This is the second book in the Finishing School Series. I like books with kick ass girls so I think I will enjoy this.
With this book in hand I got home and then had to check on book outlet to see if they had the first book in the series and they did so then I had to make another book outlet purchase. With this order I only purchased 3 books, so I think that I controlled myself.
Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carringer
Sophronia is a bit of a tom boy much to the dismay of her mom, so she enrolls her at Mademoiselle Geraldine’s Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality, hoping that this will turn her into a lady. At Geraldine’s school they not only learn to be ladies but train in the art espionage.

Half Wild by Sally Green
This is the second book in the Half bad trilogy. These books are about witches in modern day society. And in this world there are white witches and black witches and Nathan happens to be half of each. Which I gather is not a good thing since they keep locked up. I already own the first book and when I went to put my order in for the Finishing School book I noticed they had this in stock which I had been checking occasionally.

I came across this through my search and it struck a chord with me. This is a memoir about relationships between mother’s and daughters.
